Those traveling on Tejas Express, First private train will get free travel insurance of Rs 25 lakhs. Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), preparing to run the country’s first train Tejas Express as a private operator, has made an announcement. IRCTC said that it will provide free rail travel insurance of Rs 25 lakh to passengers traveling in the Tejas Express between Delhi-Lucknow. The train will start from the second week of October.
Special things related to Tejas Express, Private Train
5 seats will be reserved in every coach for foreign travellers
- According to IRCTC, there will be no quota of any kind on Tej Express running on Delhi-Lucknow route.
A) IRCTC said that 5 seats in all Executive Class and AC Chair Car coaches of Tejas Express will be reserved for foreign passengers.
B) IRCTC has said that initially, two trains will run on this route.
Will be able to book 60 days in advance
- IRCTC says that in general, ticket booking starts 120 days in advance but in Tejas ticket booking facility will be available 60 days in advance.
A) In a statement issued by IRCTC, it is said that for cancellation of waiting for tickets up to four hours before the departure of the train, there will be a charge of 25 rupees, while there will be no charge for cancelling the tickets till 30 minutes before the chart is made and the train is missed.
B) A variety of VIP facilities will be made available to passengers on the train. IRCTC said, that on paying the fee, the facility of transporting passengers’ luggage from home to seat in the train will also be provided.
No class will get concession in fare on the train
- Under the VIP quota in the Tejas train, confirmed berths will not be given to MPs, MLAs, Ministers of States, public representatives, railway officers and media persons. No class will get concession in fares on the train.
A) In this train, the full fare of a child of 5-12 years will be charged. It is expected that the country’s first private Tejas train will start running between Delhi and Lucknow in October.

B) A senior Railway Board official said that under the emergency quota, passenger trains are provided berths in lieu of waiting for tickets in Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto, Mail-Express, etc.
C) It includes MPs, MLAs, etc. There is no VIP quota in the country’s first private train run with the help of IRCTC. Tejas will be the first train in which RAC tickets will not be issued.
D) No concessional tickets will be given to senior citizens, disabled, serious patients, award winners, etc. All such passengers will have to pay full fare. He informed that many rules of common passenger train will not be implemented in Tejas.
